After a string of five wins, Seton Catholic's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 49-36 loss to the Heritage Christian Eagles. The contest marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Seton Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jason Moynihan, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. Moynihan is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Semler, who posted 14 points.

Among those leading the charge was Eli Nix, who earned six points.

Seton Catholic now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Heritage Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Seton Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 73-66 victory against Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats on the 2nd. As for Heritage Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-38 defeat against Richmond on the 2nd.
