The North Brunswick Scorpions fell victim to the Laney Buccaneers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Buccaneers on the road and fell 40-0. Having soared to a lofty 51 points in the game before, North Brunswick couldn't push the score so high this time.
Laney's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kolbe Little led the charge by throwing for 188 yards and three touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Laney also got a significant boost from Tyjhere Crudup, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 119 yards.
North Brunswick's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Laney, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
North Brunswick will be playing at home against Ashley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Ashley is ranked 123rd, while North Brunswick is ranked 114th). As for Laney, they will head out on the road to face off against Topsail at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
