3A Special District 2 recap November 5, 2013
Coquille lost to Gold Beach 58-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Joseph Scolari caught 2 passes for 45 yards in the loss.
Glide made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,987 from 13,240. The improvement was largely due to a 35-6 victory over Bandon/Pacific last week.
Wil Lozano provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Tigers fell to the Wildcats.
Scolari was the best wideout in 3A Special District 2 this week as Coquille fell to the Panthers. Scolari tallied 2 receptions for 45 yards. Makel (Moe) Faith helped Coquille's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 11 yards.
David Thomason's team's Zach Breitkreutz and Scolari have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Breitkreutz has thrown for 574 yards this season, while Scolari has 22 catches for 333 yards. Lozano from Bandon/Pacific leads the league in rushing with 608 yards.
Glide led the league in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on Silia Polamalu's team.
