On Tuesday, the Toll Gate Titans faced the North Providence Cougars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Toll Gate fell to North Providence 49-44. Toll Gate was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as North Providence apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
North Providence's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lusine Hagopian led the charge by scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hagopian has scored at least a third of North Providence's points. Another player making a difference was Makenna Heon, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Toll Gate has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for North Providence, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.
