Despite the defeat, River Ridge saw an underclassman step up: Dominique Harper scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ethan Thomas, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
River Ridge's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Gig Harbor, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River Ridge will challenge North Thurston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Thurston presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than River Ridge in Washington (North Thurston is ranked 77th, while River Ridge is ranked 291st). As for Gig Harbor, they will head out on the road to face off against Central Kitsap at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Kitsap is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
