The Westmont Sentinels will head out on the road to take on the Trinity Blazers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Westmont has five straight victories, Trinity has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Westmont got the win against Aurora East by a conclusive 18-3. Considering the Sentinels have won eight matchups by more than 11 runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Gwyneth Jindra made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI.

In other batting news, Westmont got a massive performance out of Cate Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple. Jackson is on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Jael McLorn was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Westmont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .540 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Trinity's offense. They lost 15-0 to DePaul College Prep on Tuesday.
Westmont pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.6 runs over those games. As for Trinity, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.
Trinity's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Westmont has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .568.
