Baseball Recap: Eureka Extends Winning Streak to Three

Eureka had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the LeRoy Panthers by a score of 9-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hornets also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Eureka's victory bumped their record up to 22-2. As for LeRoy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6.

Eureka and LeRoy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Hornets will face off against Clinton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (38 vs. 391). Meanwhile, LeRoy (ranked 215th) will meet Watseka (ranked 512th) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
