Gayville-Volin is a perfect 3-0 against Wagner since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Gayville-Volin is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Colman-Egan with a sharp 22-1 win on Monday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the C-E Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Ayla Dimmer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Gayville-Volin got a massive performance out of Teresa Stockman, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those four runs gave Stockman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jolie Westrum, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Gayville-Volin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Scotland/Menno hit Wagner with a six-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Raiders lost 13-2 to the Trappers. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lydia Yost spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and seven unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Wagner saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mary Virginia Ashes, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Wagner's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Gayville-Volin, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Wagner's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Gayville-Volin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .466. It's a different story for Wagner, though, as they've only averaged .221. Will they be able to contain Gayville-Volin's hitters?
Everything went Gayville-Volin's way against Wagner in their previous meeting on April 5th, as Gayville-Volin made off with a 12-0 victory. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Red Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
