Softball Recap: Snowflake Wins Going Away Against St. Johns

Snowflake won the last time they faced St. Johns and things went their way on Thursday too. The Snowflake Lobos blew past the St. Johns Redskins 10-1. The Lobos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Kashlynn Cantrell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Snowflake got a massive performance out of Graycee Skousen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That stolen base was Skousen's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taya Schneider, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

The win made it two in a row for Snowflake and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for St. Johns, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.

Coincidentally, Snowflake and St. Johns will both be playing Round Valley the next time they take the field. Snowflake will head out to face Round Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while St. Johns will host them at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
