The Gettysburg Warriors''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They lost to Susquehanna Township at home by a decisive 45-28 margin. Gettysburg was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Susquehanna Township apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, Gettysburg still got an impressive performance from Brady Heiser, who rushed for 48 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Preston Burnett, who rushed for 148 yards.
Susquehanna Township's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was TD Evans, who threw for 215 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Dorian Smith was another key contributor, rushing for 160 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.
Gettysburg's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Susquehanna Township, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Gettysburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Susquehanna Township will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Manheim Central at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Manheim Central is on a five-game streak of home wins, Susquehanna Township a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
