Natchitoches Central is 1-7 against Calvary Baptist Academy since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Natchitoches Central Chiefs will challenge the Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Natchitoches Central will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Many on Saturday. Natchitoches Central blew past Many 11-1. The victory continues a trend for the Chiefs in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.
Ehren Guidroz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those doubles were her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lila Robertson, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Skylar Braxton also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Calvary Baptist Academy put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Ponchatoula get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won seven games by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Kynzee Anderson, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep Ponchatoula off the board. With that strong performance, Anderson is now averaging an impressive 6 strikeouts per game.
At the plate, Baylor Bockhaus was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Bain, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Calvary Baptist Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .423 or higher in six consecutive matches.
Natchitoches Central's record is now 2-6. As for Calvary Baptist Academy, their record is now 9-0.
Natchitoches Central suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Calvary Baptist Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Natchitoches Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
