The Athens Golden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Decatur Red Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Athens is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

While Athens' victory against Decatur wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Athens narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Decatur 8-7. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jaret Johnson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
