The Minico Spartans will take on the Emmett Huskies at 12:30  p.m.  on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Minico and 12 for Emmett dating back to last season.
Friday just wasn't the day for Minico's offense. They took  a  4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sandy on Friday. The  game marked the first time this season in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.
 Minico got a good showing from  Kam Rutschke, who   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits.
Meanwhile, Emmett also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Horizon Christian by a score of  8-4.
  Nick Browne made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases and one  RBI.
 Minico's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Emmett, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
 Everything went Minico's way against Emmett in their previous meeting  back in March of 2016, as Minico made off with  an  11-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Minico since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
