The Whittell Warriors kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 50-22 loss at the hands of Westwood. Whittell lost against Westwood in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 54-37 score last time.
Rocky Laremore and Alex Rvovic certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Laremore scored 4 points along with 8 rebounds, while Rvovic scored 7 points along with 10 rebounds.
Whittell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Westwood, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Whittell will take on Surprise Valley at 1:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Westwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Providence at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
