Osborne has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Pike Valley Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Osborne knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully the Panthers like a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Osborne gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They beat Southern Cloud co-op [Miltonvale/Glasco] by the very same score they won with last week: 55-19. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-6.
Meanwhile, Pike Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Lincoln 45-40.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Andrew Cooper, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Ezra Benne, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Pike Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Osborne pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Pike Valley, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.
Osborne took their victory against the Panthers in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 52-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Osborne since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
