The John Marshall Justices are ranked highly in their home state, and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Mt. Zion Prep Academy Warriors. John Marshall managed a 67-61 victory over Mt. Zion Prep Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
John Marshall got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Damon Thompson Jr out in front who scored 16 points. Thompson Jr is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aiden Argabright, who scored 15 points.
John Marshall's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Mt. Zion Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 20-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Marshall won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Alexandria City at 4:00 p.m. on January 13th. Alexandria City will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for Mt. Zion Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Lanham Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lanham Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 68.2 points per game.
