Softball Recap: Kirbyville Snags 11th Victory in Last 12 Games

While Kirbyville put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Hardin. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 15 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Maddie Simmos, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Emily Staggemeier was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Kirbyville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matches.

Kirbyville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Hardin, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15-1.

As of now, neither Kirbyville nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
