South River is 2-8 against Arundel since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Seahawks will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. South River is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
If South River beats Arundel with eight runs on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Seahawks' pitcher stepped up to hand Severn Run an 8-0 shutout on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Seahawks.

Severn Run's batters probably weren't too happy with Parker Box, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up zero walks). Box has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chase Lutterbie, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Justin Bickel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Arundel sidestepped Northeast for a 2-1 win.
Tahner McGriff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Arundel is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-8 otherwise.
South River's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Arundel, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Arundel's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: South River hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. It's a different story for Arundel, though, as they've only averaged .255. Will they be able to contain South River's hitters?
South River came out on top in a nail-biter against Arundel in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 7-6. Will the Seahawks repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
