Alex Slowey ran for two touchdowns and
Tanner Akers added two as well as
Westfield Area (Westfield, Wis.) beat Mauston (Wis.) 44-6 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Spencer Burk touchdown run in the first quarter, the Pioneers were up 37-6 at the half.
Westfield Area expanded its lead to 38 points entering the fourth quarter. WA scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Akers.
A big 24-point second quarter helped the Westfield school secure the win. The Pioneers rushed for three touchdowns on the ground during the quarter, including one by Akers.
Mauston's only touchdown came on a 5-yard run in the first quarter.
Coming into the game Westfield Area had allowed 27.0 points per game this year.
The loss was the fourth in a row for the Golden Eagles.
In a South Central game next week Westfield Area (5-3) takes on Wautoma, and Mauston (2-6) will go up against Adams-Friendship also in a South Central game.
