Golden Gate has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Bonita Springs Bullsharks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Golden Gate will be strutting in after a win while Bonita Springs will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Golden Gate didn't have too much trouble with Immokalee at home as they won 35-16.
Among those leading the charge was Chrisna Charlot, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aniah Buchanan, who scored 11 points.
Bonita Springs suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Wednesday. They were beaten by Lely 52-16. While losing is never fun, Bonita Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 511th, while Lely is ranked 216th).
Golden Gate's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-12. As for Bonita Springs, they bumped their record down to 4-9 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Golden Gate against Bonita Springs in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 44-17 win. With Golden Gate ahead 29-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
