Stratford Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-17 victory over the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Perhaps the best among them was Tucker Johnston, who threw for 236 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 59 yards and a pair of scores. The Eagles' leading receiver Jett Johnston was Tucker's top target yet again, picking up 119 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Stratford Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 312 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Anne-Pacelli only rushed for 99 rushing yards.
Despite the loss, St. Anne-Pacelli still got an impressive performance from Cameron Carino, who rushed for 74 yards and one score.
Stratford Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Pinewood Christian at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they will be playing at home against Tattnall Square Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
