After a string of three wins, the Griffith Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. The match between them and Munster wasn't particularly close, with Griffith falling 59-43. Griffith has struggled against the Mustangs recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Griffith still got an impressive performance from Cameron Chandler, who scored six points along with 16 rebounds and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Gianni Feaster, who scored 12 points.
Even though they lost, Griffith smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Griffith's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7. As for Munster, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Griffith will take on the Governors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hammond Morton is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Munster, they will be playing at home against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calumet New Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 318th, while the Mustangs are ranked 72nd).
