The Dresden Lions will take on the Clarksburg Rockets in a tournament on Monday. Dresden is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
On Tuesday, Dresden needed a bit of extra time to put away Union City. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Golden Tornadoes.
Caylin Boaz looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched.

Meanwhile, Clarksburg didn't have quite enough to beat Halls on Tuesday and fell 6-5. The loss continues a trend for the Rockets in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.
Libby Autry made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Alyssa Belew was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Dresden's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-13. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Clarksburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
Clarksburg's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dresden hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. It's a different story for Clarksburg, though, as they've only averaged .231. Will they be able to contain Dresden's hitters?
Dresden took their win against Clarksburg when the teams last played back in March of 2016 by a conclusive 22-3 score. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
