The Hopewell Titans fell victim to the Hough Huskies''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 56-0 loss at the hands of the Huskies. Hopewell's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it six in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hough to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trey Blakeney, who threw for 107 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Jeremiah Jones and his 83 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Hough's victory.
Hopewell's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-3 Chambers (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 66.7% over those games). As for Hough, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Hopewell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hough will stay at home for another week and welcome Asheville at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Asheville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
