Basketball Recap: Pat Feamster's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Friends' Central over Germantown Academy

Friends' Central was the 61-50 winner over Germantown Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Friends' Central fell 71-64 to the Germantown Academy Patriots on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (59), Friends' Central still had to take the loss.

Friends' Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pat Feamster, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 21 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Feamster a new career-high. Oben Mokonchu was another key player, going 6 of 10 on his way to 20 points.

Friends' Central's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-9. As for Germantown Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Friends' Central and Germantown Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Friends' Central (ranked 213th) will meet Chambersburg (ranked 28th) at 3:30 p.m. on December 28th. Similarly, Germantown Academy (ranked 198th) will meet Archbishop Carroll (ranked 23rd) at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
