Doane Academy lost against the Burlington Township Falcons on January 2nd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Doane Academy took a 64-48 bruising from Burlington Township. While losing is never fun, Doane Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Burlington Township is ranked 103rd).
Burlington Township found their leader in underclassman Quayd Hendryx, who scored 12 points along with eight assists. That's the first time this season that Hendryx posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Ferguson, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Doane Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Burlington Township, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Doane Academy the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Pennsauken at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Burlington Township will take on Northern Burlington at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
