The Overbrook Panthers on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Executive Education Academy Charter School Raptors at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Overbrook didn't have too much trouble with Mastery Charter North - Pickett on the road as they won 76-61. Given Overbrook's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while Mastery Charter North - Pickett is ranked 515th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Overbrook's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Omar Davis led the charge by scoring 18 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Davis is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Shafir Hall, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Executive Education Academy Charter School had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Conwell-Egan Catholic out 60-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Executive Education Academy Charter School has posted yet this season.
Overbrook's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Executive Education Academy Charter School, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
Overbrook might still be hurting after the 89-67 defeat they got from Executive Education Academy Charter School in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. Can Overbrook avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
