The Eastern Quakers had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 62-43 bruising from Grand Ledge. Eastern lost against Grand Ledge in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 60-51 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grand Ledge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braden James, who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Elyjah Hendricks, who scored 16 points.
Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Grand Ledge, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern will square off against DeWitt at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grand Ledge, they will head out on the road to face off against Petoskey at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
