The Cartersville Hurricanes won the last time they faced the Dalton Catamounts, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Cartersville came out on top against Dalton by a score of 49-41.
DJ Cain was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nas Bennett, who scored 13 points.
When it comes to explaining why Dalton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kobi Cooper. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. That's the first time this season that Cooper scored 15 or more points. Jermichael Craft was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Cartersville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season. As for Dalton, they bumped their record down to 4-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Cartersville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cass at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for Dalton, they will be playing at home against Hiram at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Hiram has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
