Jesuit is 9-1 against Tampa Catholic since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Tigers will welcome the Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Jesuit's favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Tampa Catholic has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Jesuit is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 69-6 win over Hillsborough. Considering the Tigers have won seven matchups by more than 30 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jesuit relied on the efforts of Hezekiah Davis, who rushed for 151 yards and one score on only five carries, and Will Griffin, who threw for 157 yards and four touchdowns. That's the most rushing yards Davis has posted since back in August. Carlo Thompson Jr was Griffin's top target, picking up 24 receiving yards.
Jesuit didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Hillsborough to a completion percentage of just 34.5%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from four players: Kaden Henderson, Tripp Keller, Kam Housey, and Ayden Addae, who each logged one passes deflected. Jesuit hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.67 or higher in five consecutive games.
Jesuit's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Henderson. Housey got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Tampa Catholic ended up a good deal behind Calvary Christian on Friday and lost 43-26.
Jesuit will need to focus on slowing down Lucas Ruan, one of several Tampa Catholic players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 305 yards and a pair of TDs. Ruan also passed for two passing touchdowns, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jonathan 'Jo Jo' Hall, who picked up 124 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 14 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Carl Jones Jr., who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Tampa Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Jesuit, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Jesuit has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 158.7 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Tampa Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 73.2 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Jesuit was able to grind out a solid win over Tampa Catholic in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 31-21. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
