Weston (Conn.) grabbed the lead when
Peter Lummis ran for a touchdown with 10:00 remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
Bethel (Conn.) 33-20 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured four lead swaps.
The teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked at 20. The Trojans took the lead for good on a Lummis touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Weston's most effective player was Lummis. The sophomore running back ran for two touchdowns.
James Giannone played well for the Wildcats. The junior quarterback ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to four on the year.
WHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 30-7.
Weston (7-1) will play a Southwest game against Masuk next week, while Bethel (2-6) will take on Brookfield also in a Southwest game.
