Riverside and Old Forge are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Vikings will welcome the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Old Forge will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Riverside extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Vikings blew past Delaware Valley 14-3.
Cooper Borowski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Riverside let Jose Sosa and Nicholas Bohenek run wild. Sosa got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Bohenek went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Bohenek a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chris Graff, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Riverside hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Old Forge made easy work of Montrose on Thursday and carried off a 10-1 victory. The Blue Devils have beaten the Meteors the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Meteors has come to flipping the script.
Jake Bartnikowski was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Bartnikowski was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jake Iacavazzi, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Elio Castaldi was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Riverside pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Old Forge, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
