Pusch Ridge Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the San Tan Foothills Sabercats 53-10. The Lions are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 13 straight dating back to last season.
A big part of Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's victory came down to the chemistry between Race Pinneo and his top target Dominic Painter. Pinneo threw for 177 yards and a pair of TDs on perfect 9-for-9 passing while Painter picked up 164 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Those 164 receiving yards gave Painter a new career-high.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's defense and their eight sacks. Gio France was especially locked on to San Tan Foothills' QB and sacked him 2.5 times. Another thorn in the Sabercats' side was Logan Carey, who picked up 1.5 sacks and made seven total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 41-14 win against ALA - Ironwood on the 29th. As for San Tan Foothills, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-0 loss against Dysart on the 29th.
