The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wilmer-Hutchins, who took down 571st ranked Wilmer-Hutchins, 27-26. Jamar Mack threw for 106 yards and ran for 61 yards in the win.
Roosevelt moved up to 727 from 862 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region II District 11. The Mustangs were able to make move up by besting the Eagles 27-26.
Wilmer-Hutchins' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Christian Hicks threw for 190 and one touchdown and Keyshawn Henderson had 63 yards receiving. On the ground Hicks chipped in 160 yards. Redell Green helped Wilmer-Hutchins' passing attack out by catching two balls for 47 yards.
Elzie Barnett's team's Justin Halter and Hicks have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Halter has thrown for 831 yards this season, while Hicks, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 19 catches for 405 yards. Jay Foster from Ferris leads the league in rushing with 740 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Eagles take on the Yellowjackets. Wilmer-Hutchins' offense has recorded 191 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Ferris has permitted only 173 on the year.
A big matchup in 3A Region II District 11 this week will be when Aaron Emeyabbi's team takes on the Eagles. At the moment, the Yellowjackets are in third, while Wilmer-Hutchins is in first.
There should be lots of points scored when Ferris and the Eagles face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Yellowjackets comes in having scored 133 this season, while Wilmer-Hutchins has scored 191.
Roosevelt and the Eagles played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Roosevelt eventually emerging with a 27-26 victory. Mack in the win.
