The Revere Minutemen will venture away from home to take on the Brunswick Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Revere is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Revere made easy work of Columbia and carried off a 15-1 victory. Considering the Minutemen have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Sydney Kreighbaum was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gayle Mishic, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Revere kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 15-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Brunswick waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 4-0 win.
Not much got past Gabby Diligente, who gave up just five hits to keep Keystone off the board. Diligente has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ava Beas was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. Another player making a difference was Addison Compton, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Brunswick's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Revere, their record now sits at 17-5.
Revere's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's match. The Minutemen have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Brunswick, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Revere continue to outrun the ball?
