After reports surfaced late Wednesday night,
MaxPreps confirmed today that Robert Nkemdiche, the nation's top recruit from the class of 2013, has decommitted from Clemson.
The decision was verified by Nkemdiche's coach, Mickey Conn, who said in an email, "Yes, he has decommitted."
The 6-foot-5, 270-pound defensive end immediately shoots to the top of the list of uncommitted players in his class, and will be the focus of recruiting for many schools including Alabama and Ole Miss, the reported front-runner.
