Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Summit). Everything went their way against the Centennial Cougars on Tuesday as Summit made off with a 14-2 win. Considering the Spartans have won four matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Addison Johnson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Tarek Scherr was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Anne Marie Richards, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
