Make it eight blowout wins for the Myers Park Mustangs this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat South Mecklenburg 68-40 on the road. Myers Park is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 11 straight.
Myers Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bishop Boswell led the charge by scoring 20 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadiq White Jr., who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Despite the loss, South Mecklenburg still got an impressive performance from Peter Moye, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Moye hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Jaden Porter, who scored four points.
Myers Park pushed their record up to 15-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points per game. As for South Mecklenburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Myers Park will challenge Berry at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Berry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 406th, while Myers Park is ranked second). As for South Mecklenburg, they will head out on the road to take on Ardrey Kell at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Ardrey Kell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
