The Blessed Trinity Titans were the 82-46 winner over the Lassiter Trojans when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Blessed Trinity was the victim of a tough 56-30 defeat at the hands of Lassiter on Friday. While losing is never fun, Blessed Trinity can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while Lassiter is ranked 38th).
Cal Liston continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lassiter, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kyhir Torrence, who scored 12 points.
Blessed Trinity has fallen quite a ways from their 23-7 record last season and are now at 1-7. As for Lassiter, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blessed Trinity will square off against St. Pius X Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. St. Pius X Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Blessed Trinity likes a good challenge. As for Lassiter, they will head out on the road to face off against North Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
