The Navarre Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 77-66 to Fort Walton Beach. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Monday (58), Navarre still had to take the loss.
Loss or not, Navarre got some senior leadership from Trey Brauns who scored 14 points along with three steals and David Clearman who scored ten points. The contest was Brauns' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Darius Cunningham, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Fort Walton Beach's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dylan Ivison led the charge by going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 1 assists. Ivison also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of KJ Robertson , who scored 19 points along with three steals.
Navarre bumped their record down to 3-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Fort Walton Beach, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Navarre will square off against Milton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
