This season hasn't been kind to the Silex Owls, who are still winless after their sixth game. They were dealt a 69-38 defeat at the hands of Van-Far on Tuesday. Silex was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-15.
Leading Van-Far to victory were Pacey Reading and Nikos Connaway. Reading scored 19 points along with five rebounds, while Connaway dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Connaway has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Carter Jennings was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Silex's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Van-Far, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Silex on the road again on Thursday and play against North Callaway at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully North Callaway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Van-Far, they will square off against Bowling Green at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bowling Green will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 447th, while Van-Far is ranked 210th).
