Two dominant guards in Ava Bills and Kenzie Garner are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles will host the Sheridan Blackhawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Guerin Catholic is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Roncalli on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Guerin Catholic lost 61-40 to Roncalli. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Guerin Catholic's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Bills, who went 5 of 11 en route to 17 points and eight boards, and Lillian Behrle, who posted nine points and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sheridan had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.7 points) and they went ahead and made it 14 on Thursday. Guerin Catholic better keep an eye on Garner. She was instrumental in Sheridan's win, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds. Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Guerin Catholic has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23.4 rebounds per game.
