Basketball Recap: Life Center Academy Takes a Loss

Life Center Academy lost against Cristo Rey Philadelphia back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Life Center Academy Warriors were beaten by the Cristo Rey Philadelphia Blue Pride 81-46. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Life Center Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rasheem Yon, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight assists and three steals. Yon is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted eight or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gardy Etienne, who posted ten points and five boards.

Life Center Academy's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-6. As for Cristo Rey Philadelphia, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Life Center Academy will challenge Phelps at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Life Center Academy is facing Phelps at the right time seeing as Phelps is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Cristo Rey Philadelphia, they will head out to take on Friends Select at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
