It was a good run, but the Meade Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 60-53 to South River. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Meade has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Meade still got an impressive performance from Lucaya Baldridge, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Baldridge scored 15 or more points. Keon Scott was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Meade's loss ended a 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2. As for South River, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meade will square off against Southern at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South River will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Huntingtown at 6:30 p.m. on January 8th.
