The Goodland Cowboys scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Burlington 76-37 at home. Goodland has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.
When it comes to explaining why Burlington lost, one person who can't be blamed is Keziah Williams. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Williams is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Schaal, who scored three points.
The win (which was Goodland's fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Burlington, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7.
Goodland will head out on the road to square off against the Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Holcomb is on a six-game streak of home wins, the Cowboys a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Burlington will take on the Badgers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jordan Rockwell and Williams.
