On Tuesday, the Bourne Canalmen faced the Somerset Berkley Regional Raiders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bourne walked away with a 77-65 win over Somerset Berkley Regional. The victory was just business as usual for Bourne, who after ten games remain undefeated this season.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brendan Mcdonald, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mcdonald pulled down eight or more rebounds. Finnian Bjork was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds.
Bourne pushed their record up to 10-0 with that victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 6-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bourne will square off against Old Rochester Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, they will head out on the road to square off against Dighton-Rehoboth Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dighton-Rehoboth Regional will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Somerset Berkley Regional is ranked seventh).
