Basketball Recap: Surrey Piles Up the Points Against Drake/Anamoose

Surrey won the last time they faced Drake/Anamoose and things went their way on Saturday too. The Surrey Mustangs took their matchup with ease, bagging a 57-29 win over the Drake/Anamoose Raiders. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Surrey to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sienna Klimpel, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 15 points and five boards. What's more, Klimpel also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Ava Keller was another key player, putting up 16 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.

Surrey smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive games.

Surrey's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-5. As for Drake/Anamoose, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Surrey wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-41 win against Velva on the 27th. As for Drake/Anamoose, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-31 loss against Powers Lake/Burke Central on the 30th.
