The Duanesburg Eagles will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville Wolves at 6:00 p.m. Duanesburg will be strutting in after a win while Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Duanesburg made easy work of Fonda-Fultonville and carried off a 63-38 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Duanesburg.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-32 loss to Berne-Knox-Westerlo on Friday. Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville has struggled against Berne-Knox-Westerlo recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brooke Trumble, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. She scored a full 31.3% of Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jade Bonneau was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 10 rebounds.
Duanesburg's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville, the last time they won on the road was back last Sunday. Having now lost three straight away matches, they've bumped their record down to 1-3.
Everything went Duanesburg's way against Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as Duanesburg made off with a 51-28 win.
