New Kent were successful in their last outing against Jamestown, and they didn't afford Jamestown any payback this time around. Everything came up roses for New Kent against Jamestown on Friday as the team secured a 42-7 win. The high-flying offensive effort was a definite turnaround from New Kent's flat performance the match before.
New Kent got off to a slow start in their last-week contest, but they had no such trouble against Jamestown and cruised to a 19-point first half. Meanwhile, Jamestown couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 19-0 heading into the break. The New Kent defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the game. The win got New Kent back to even at 2-2. The defeat dropped Jamestown's record to 1-3.
Next week New Kent take on Grafton at 7:00 PM. Grafton took a loss in their last matchup and are no doubt out to reverse New Kent's good fortune. Jamestown will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against York in two weeks at 7:00 PM.
