The Schurr Spartans are taking a road trip to challenge the South Hills Huskies at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Schurr is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.
Schurr's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 24-0 margin over Montebello. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.
Amanda Gonzalez and Sophia De Santiago made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Gonzalez tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, De Santiago tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Gonzalez has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Gonzalez went 1-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while De Santiago went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Gonzalez has posted since back in March of 2024.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Schurr hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like South Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
